What is NickWalshTV?
Hello and welcome…
…to “NickWalshTV” or “NWTV” for short.
My name is Nick Walsh, I am a professional poker player, content creator, commentator, and as of yesterday, a PokerStars Ambassador.
I've been playing poker for well over 10 years and I specialise in "fast" / "hyper" sit and go poker formats.
Some of you may already know me from my previous work on projects like:
Sure, but what is NWTV?
NWTV is a project commencing in March 2022 and is effectively a new, consolidated brand umbrella for some of the new content we will create / help create for you guys in the future.
Funny: The name NickWalshTV was originally chosen as a nod to the domain “Twitch.tv". The plan was to purchase the domain “NickWalsh.tv” and redirect it here but some domain poacher stole NickWalsh.tv in the months before I could launch this site…well played sir (KEKW).
So what’s the plan?
My intention for this project is to create fresh poker content for players of all levels and poker disciplines, across multiple platforms, with a focus on community collaboration and strategic analysis in an accessible way.
In other words, new poker content for players of all levels and abilities.
However, unlike my previous work, PokerStars has given me the opportunity to help lead the development of the PokerStars Twitch channel directly.
This means my primary focus will be creating and streaming new Twitch content for Twitch.tv/PokerStars but follow NickWalshTV in case that account becomes active as our production grows.
So, while NWTV is my new brand, much of the content you guys will be seeing in the future will be created and hosted in association with the PokerStars Twitch team (and NWTV will host the “extra” stuff if needs be).
Why should we listen to you?
In short, I have well documented, long term results in the formats I specialise in.
While the formats I am known for playing on stream might be considered somewhat “unconventional” specialisations, I believe they have given me a well rounded understanding of the game of poker which has allowed me to commentate on some of the most prestigious poker events on the planet in an accessible way (see above links).
Here are some of my recent results…
Spin & Go Chip Graph (~15,000 games Av. CEV 61 from buyins $5 to $100):
All time Grand Tour / Neymar Jr’s Kick Off Chip Graph (~7,000 games Av. CEV 110 from buyins $5 to $12):
Notable Stream Challenge Results:
Successfully completed $30 to $2,000 PokerStars “Power Up” bankroll challenge in 2018 showing 11.66% ROI.
Successfully completed 2 PokerStars “Grand Tour” bankroll challenge / experiments in 2020 showing average 8.76% ROI.
Career Mentions:
Hit $150,000 / 12,000x Maximum Spin & Go Multiplier in 2017
I’m not really into those games though Nick!
No problem!
While I will be creating content surrounding some of the games mentioned above I will also be developing formats which focus on other formats you guys love to play.
Your feedback is what will drive the development of this content so let your opinion be heard and help me develop the kind of content you want to watch.
So what’s next?
I've got some pretty ambitious concepts I would like to try out this year and I would love for you guys to join our community and see if it's something you might enjoy.
For starters, I’ll begin streaming regularly on the PokerStars Twitch channel commencing today, the 23rd of March at 12:00 GMT (and PokerStars will keep the schedule updated regularly so you won’t miss anything).
In the subsequent months, I’ll work closely with PokerStars to develop and expand the stream offering on the PokerStars channel (and I’ll keep you updated here and on social media when we try out new ideas so you guys can provide feedback on what you prefer to watch throughout the year).
I can’t stress enough how important your interaction is to this project so I sincerely look forward to your feedback so we can start to create the kind of content you guys enjoy most.
So, if you like poker, you want to improve your poker skills, or you just want to hang out with us live on stream - this could be the project for you.
You guys can usually find me streaming on PokerStars Central at TWITCH.TV/POKERSTARS but you can find links to my socials below where I’ll be sharing our content as we create it as well.
See you online.
